I am running Windows 7 Pro - with all outstanding updates installed. I have Automatic updates disabled. Jul 10, 2018 Capicom 2.1.0.2 microsoft download; Capicom 2.1 download vista; Tags. Any ideas of why this old update would suddenly appear in Windows Update? EDIT: the last change I made to my computer (Dec 25) was installing the re-issued KB2753842. I think I've figured out the answer. Of why a very old update (KB931906) was suddenly queued in my Windows Update. Several days ago, I installed drivers and software for my old Logitech webcam. Carrrrlosss here or click in new window: ), but with all English options, menus, and real Club/Country names. Note 2: Cant find good enough video so i am posting 2. Capicom.dll (version 2.1.0. 1) came along (from Logitech) with that installation. Apparently, version 2.1.0. Capicom 2.11 of capicom.dll has been replaced (via Microsoft's KB931906) with version 2.1.0. So, when Windows Update detected that I had a down-level version of capicom.dll, it queued update KB931906 (which contains capicom.dll version 2.1.0. I didn't mean to suggest that BSOD described in your other thread was caused by KB931906 - but the hardware changes you first decribed in this thread may have caused Windows Update to offer KB931906 (again). Furthermore, the hardware changes may have had something to do with the BSOD you encountered after you installed KB2753842-v2. PS: If KB931906 had ever been installed before, it would still be present in the 'update queue.' If such was the case, you'd already Approved the update as far as AU's concerned which would explain why KB931906 was offered even though you'd disabled AU. [ Yes, it's very confusing.] -- ~Robear Dyer (PA Bear) Microsoft MVP (Windows Client) since October 2002. Robear, Some background on my Windows Update settings: I have Automatic Updates set to notify me when updates are available, but allow me to manually select, download, and install as needed. When updates are offered/listed in my Windows Update queue, I prefer to review each before downloading and installing them. And I usually wait a week (before downloading/installing) to see if any issues with the new updates are reported in the media (i.e., I do not want to be a beta tester for Microsoft's updates). Regarding KB931906 (capicom). You are correct, the installation of Logitech drivers (and other software) for my old web cam did indeed result in KB931906 being placed into my Windows Update queue. The Logitech software included a version (2.1.0.1) of capicom.dll which was placed onto my hard drive and registered.
